IHC’s 4th Annual Pediatric Orthopedic Mission to the Caribbean!

IHC’s 4th annual pediatric orthopedic surgery mission to St. Vincent was a success!  The team evaluated a record number of 126 children and performed 16 surgeries.  Several of the children traveled from the neighboring islands of Anguilla, St. Lucia, Grenada and Dominica to be seen by the visiting IHC team.

The team performed the first total joint replacement in IHC history, and the first to occur on the island of St. Vincent. This mission also marked the first time that IHC has ever completed an in-country scoliosis repair procedure.

The mission team was led by Dr. Mike Estes and Dr. Chester Sharps from Richmond, Virginia. Click below to view videos of them talking about their experience on the trip!
